"This wine is produced from 70+ year old vines in the hallowed vineyard of Cru Paolin (in the commune of Nieve)--this parcel of vines is planted on a sandy, south-facing vineyard which offers peak ripeness and transparency of terroir not all that dissimilar from its sister vineyard ‘Rabaja’. I think the value here is incredible. When you see value like this in a name brand appellation like Barbaresco-it's rare that the wines stay under the radar for too long. The 2016 will reward handsome dividends to the patient drinker…ideally, I’m looking to pull the cork in 8-12 years although will certainly stick around even longer--especially in a cool, dark cellar."
