"Cantine Valpane Grignolino is one of the finest Grignolinos I've had. There is something so distinct about any wine with the Valpane label on it and something so distinct about this very local Piedmontese specialty. Put the two together and you come up with a thought provoking wine packed with complexity and distinction. This wine is a combination of spices like nutmeg and clove backed by a tart cherry profile and truffle-a signature of the Valpane wines. Grignolino is notorious for its large piths which can sometimes make a green, pithy, overly tannic wine-but not in the hands of Valpane. A stylish, classy, Piedmont red for those moments that you're looking for something a little bit more light-hearted than Nebbiolo."
