"Ooof yeah. That's good. The latest and greatest out of the Burgunland in Austria is one of the finest Austrian reds on our shelf. Zweigelt is the grape variety, and it produces fresh reds with soft tannins that are exceptionally easy to drink. Although the wines can be simple (and sometime cheap and cheerful)--this is an example with considerable complexity that rivals cru Beaujolais and the like. Layer upoon layer of red cherries, leather, crushed stone, black tea, and fresh and roasted herbs harmonize. On the palate, it's just so tempting, inviting another sip until the glass (or the bottle) inevitably empties faster than expected. The farming here is organic. Fermentation takes place in tank using indigenous yeast. Pour it with chicken or duck, pasta and tomato sauce, hot dogs and BBQ."
