"So -- meet Laura Lorenzo. Laura has been making wine since she was 16. The wines of Laura Lorenzo fall squarely into the category of Cameron Winery in that these are wines that we've wanted to have for a long time, but weren't sure if we'd ever get the allocation -- but now they're here and we actually have a quantity to sell. This is her Azos da Vila, produced from a field blend of wild indigenous grapes saddled on a chassis of Mencia. The resulting wine offers a stunning juxtaposition of flawlessly ripe yet tart, and juicy but savory. A journey of complexity manifested in neatly stacked layers: black olive, wood smoke, black cherry, fig preserves, freshly cracked black pepper and whispers of black tea and cola around the edges. The finish here is tightly packed and long. Laura describes her farming as agro-ecology with minimal impact. It is also organic and sometimes utilizes bits of biodynamics as well. Bravo Laura."
