"Sourced from South Africa's coolest regions (Elgin, Walker Bay, and Cape Agulhas), Khayelitsha's Finest Wines is a collab between winemaking couple Leon Coetzee and Margaux Nel andsommelier Ewan Mackenzie. This wine takes its name, "Fume" from the fact that is 100% Sauvignon Blanc fermented in oak barrels--but please, forget everything you know about traditional Fume Blanc! This wine was fermented in neutral 300L French oak barrels with indigenous yeast/. The outcome conjures up really fine Sancerre. On the nose: fresh linen, crushed stones, honeycrisp apples, apple blossom, fresh cream, and white tea. On the palate, it offers a creamy pillow texture that only comes from a neutral oak barrel. Just 175 cases produced. Sustainable and vegan."
