"100% Cabernet Franc. There is almost nothing more exciting than a new bottling from an old producer that we know and love—the La Grande Vignolle is an exciting new addition to our Filliatreau line up. This is sourced from 35-40 year old vines planted in 6 HA single vineyard planted on the precipice of a chalky cliff in Saumur-Champigny. This is an utterly classic representation of Cab Franc and that’s coming from a Cab Franc lover. This is juicy but not weighty and driven by the most delightful amalgamation of berries: freshly foraged black berries, wild strawberry, and a whisper of wildflowers in the wind. Drink now—and pair this up with cow’s milk cheeses, cured meats, or perhaps, as warmer weather comes, grilled mixed vegetables (with a subtle char) but not before sticking this bottle in the fridge for 40 minutes or so. Organic."
