"This fun blend comes from a charming little domaine in the Languedoc specializing in Organic farming and minimal intervention (including minimal addition of sulfites). This particular cuvee is a composition of Lladoner Pelut 37%, Syrah 27%, Grenache Noir 33%. If you're wondering about LLadoner Pelut--so was I--I had to look this one up. This grape is thought to be a mutation of Grenache and is a rendition of the grape notable for particularly furry leaves...'Pelut' being a reference to 'hair'. I think this is pretty cool.. and I'm curious to taste it as its own variety. The wine in bottle is rustic, sappy, and satisfying. Anchored with a concentrated core of rich black fruit accompanied by savory nuances of leather, spice, peppercorn and black olive. It makes me so nostalgic for France. Pair it up with fire-roasted meats: lamb, sausage, and a good burger. I bet you enjoyed their rose this summer. I'm thrilled to welcome back this domaine after a seven year hiatus!
