“The aromas just don’t stop coming. Dark, juicy cherries, and lush raspberries, rich garden soil, crisp fallen leaves, black breakfast tea, and well-toasted, buttered brioche dusted with warm nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. On the palate, the intensity continues. The medium-plus body is balanced by fresh acidity, juicy fruit leans on dark, earthy truffle, and while the tannins are resolute, they are silky and supple. Long and lingering, the finish just doesn’t seem to quit, continually evolving over several minutes. While I expect this wine to truly come into its own after 3-5 years in the cellar (and likely up to 10), it is already remarkably pleasurable, particularly after a brief decanting. The perfect bottle for baked ham, beef Wellington, or holiday bird."
