"Overlooking the Gironde estuary, Chateau Mondesir-Gazin uses the moderating influence of the river to balance the ripeness associated with other South-facing vineyards in the region. This little gem sports a classic Right Bank Bordeaux profile. Plummy, leathery aromas; blackberries, black tea, and spice across the palate; dry, earthy, lingering finish; just enough tannin to drink nicely right out of the gate. Produced from Certified Biodynamic vines up to 50 years old, only a quarter of the cuvee sees new oak, with the rest being divided between neutral oak and concrete. The result is balance: earth and fruit, tannin and spice, all right where they should be. Drink it now or over the next handful of years."
