"After seeing them all over Instagram for many years, it's thrilling to finally have these wines come to the Connecticut market. The wine is made by Fabrizio Iuli in the village of Montaldo. Fabrizio has been making wine in these rolling hillsides since 1998. The 'Umberto' is his signature Barbera. This wine captures the more savory side of Barbera bringing fourth really delicate notes of balsamic, limestone and black olives. Fabrizio calls himself a 'Barberista' because of his commitment to the variety. Not only is the wine certified organic but these vineyards have never seen chemicals (since the beginning of time). Just about 1000 cases are made each vintage. The perfect accompaniment for a pizza or a cheese plate."
