"Cantine Valpane Perlydia Barbera del Monferrato Superiore is one of those brilliant Barberas that shows age with grace. These Barberas are few and far between and offer brilliant values--and because of their age are extraordinarily food friendly. I'm thinking a flat crust pizza topped with caramelized onions, roasted bell peppers, and sauteed mushrooms would be just right but feel free to experiment because I'm sure there are plenty of wonderful pairings for this slightly aged Piedmont Barbera."
