"As a writer and musician in Paris in the 1990s--Gabriel Dvoskin discovered his passion for wine which ultimately brought him back home to Argentina to try his hand at making some wine. Canopus was founded in 2010 and offers a fresh new take on Argentine Malbec. Gabriel settled in the El Cepillo neighborhood, at the chilly southern end of the Uco Valley of Mendoza where he planted 6 hectares of Malbec, and 2 hectares of Pinot Noir. This Malbec comes from 2 separate parcels which have been farmed organically since inception and are currently in conversion to biodynamics. These grapes are harvested by hand, gently destemmed, and vinified entirely in concrete. What you get is a fresh, modern, delicious take on a classic. Easy to drink and easy to partner with food:: lamb gyros, shish kabob skewer, and flank steak."
