"Killer Beaujolais. Domaine Prebende is a tiny domaine owned and run by the Dupeuble Family. "Une prebende" basically translates to "a tax"--which speaks to the fact that the vineyard is situated on a parcel where monks historically collected taxes from the village. It also happens to be impeccably prime limestone terroir. The resulting whites are delicate, soulful, and stamped with distinctive minerality. Crisp bing cherries, cranberry, tea, crushed seashells and fresh herbs harmonize. I can imagine pouring myself a glass after 40 minutes in the fridge just prior to the Thanksgiving meal. The resulting wine is spectacularly versatile and brilliant considering the accessibly price point--it's a good thing to have killer Beaujolais at an every day price point. Grapes are vinified without SO2, carbonically, and aged in a combo of stainless steel and cement."
