"In the grand scheme of French Wine--Allain Graillot is virtually synonymous for Northern Rhone Syrah. His Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage have garnered a strong cult following and for good reason: the wines are savory, peppery, chiseled, and irresistibly rife with black olive, wood smoke, and all the hallmarks of this iconic category. This wine though, is similar but different. This wine comes from the warm costal region of Zenata on the warm windy coast of Morocco. As it might be, this is the stellar haven for Syrah and a dynamic venue for Alain to experiment with his favorite variety. What you get is not dissimilar from well-made French renditions. Toasty black fruit, black olive, and whispers of fresh herbs, black tea, and a long lingering finish. No doubt, this is grillin' wine and responds wonderfully to a slight chill--say, no more than forty minutes in the fridge. Other than that it’s ready to pop and go. Chill and grill. Got that?"
