"This Muscadet is made by my good buddy Vincent Caille of the Loire. In fact, if it weren't for COVID I bet Vincent would be visiting the states this February. In the past I've called Vincent the master of Muscadet. Fief Seigneur Gneiss is one of his newer bottlings and February wine club marks its debut in the state of CT. This is sourced form 60-year-old Melon vines planted on south/southwest-facing slopes in Vincent's hometown of Monnieres, and I’m not just being a Caille fan when I say this is stupid delicious. All of the hallmarks of great Muscadet are here. The nose is all green apple and fresh citrus riddled with seashells and petrichor. On the palate, there is concentration, texture, and creaminess. This is not your average Muscadet. Although it most certainly partners with shellfish, it's also well-equipped for more serious cuts of fish like seabass. Certified Organic, Certified Biodynamic.
