"Beautifully concentrated aromas of bright blackberry and raspberry, whisps of wood smoke and toasted cracked pepper, and wet autumn leaves over rich forest floor. This silky, almost full-bodied wine has just enough acidity to perfectly complement the roundness of the fruit, and tannins just shy of medium-plus with a rustic, youthful edge. At 14%, the alcohol is perfectly incorporated, as the wine drinks warm and cozy, with no hot or sharp edges to be found. The finish is long and spiced, earthy and straight-up soulful. Substantially more complex than many wines priced double the modest fare of this Valencian gem. Pair this with firm cheese like Manchego, earthy root veggies, seared sirloin tips, or grilled pork."
