"Fred mentioned that one of his neighbors had gotten into producing a lot of Alexander Valley Cabernet last year. When the time came his neighbor didn’t really know what to do with it so he told Fred to take it and do as he pleased. Usually the SHAMELESS wine is a blend of all and any components that remain after he bottles all of his individual projects. Sometimes there are a couple different vintages available here and a tankful of something else over there so his son, who is now the head winemaker, figured they should put out a red blend. It’s SHAMELESS because it blends all these things without reservation but also because they fine and filter it, which in every other case is a no-no. This 6th edition is over 50% of the neighbors Cabernet Sauvignon with a healthy dollup of Carignan, Zin, Syrah and Petit Syrah. As with all of his wines, SHAMELESS is pure and fresh coming at 13.7% and offers probably the best value in the portfolio. The only issue is that he only makes about 500 cases and people seem to like it. I think it’s a can’t miss kind of wine."
