This wine is produced from the original Zinfandel budwood that Giuseppe and Luisa planted in 1899. This is as historic and historic gets in the grand scheme of Zinfandel. It blows my mind a little when I think of the risks Giuseppe and Luisa were taking in planting an unknow grape in an unknown place with the hopes to make potable wine. And they did more than just that—then hit the nail right on the head. The wine in the bottle continues to be a benchmark for California Zinfandel. "
