"This domaine is the passion project of Marie and Marcel Richaud who tend 40 hectares of vines in the Southern Rhone. While Grenache is always a key component in this area, this domaine puts nearly equal emphasis on Syrah and Mourvedre which (along with their considerably high level of organic farming) -- sets them apart from the rest of the pack. This bottling comes from the domaine's youngest vines and combines the best aspects of freshness, ripeness, richness and a distinctly juicy/lighthearted feel that makes it an exceptionally easy libation. Unfined/unfiltered, it is aged in concrete and unadulterated by the flavors of an oak barrel. Although it is not explicitly labeled as such -- this cuvee is sourced exclusively from the appellation of Cairanne -- a sister village of Sablet and a great sleeper in the grand scheme of the Southern Rhone. Although Cairanne bottlings are few and far between on the import market, these wines almost always offer great quality-to-price-ratio. Pair it up with roasted and cured meats."
