"A stunning vintage for this wine--combining a happy balance of freshness, spice, and savory earth tones that make Piaugier's wines so loveable. On the nose: wafts of freshly cracked black peppercorn, crunchy black berries, black olive, warm spices, wildflowers, and pure concentrated garrigue permeate its sappy black core. On the palate--despite loads of concentration here, it's surprisingly sprightly and light on its feet. Medium tannin is seeded with layer upon layer of flavor—rapidly alternating between high tone black fruits, earth tones, spice, and forest floor. The end result strikes a rare, happy balance of earth-driven and incredibly thirst-quenching and is particularly well suited for 40 minutes in the fridge prior to game time. 14%"
