"Nicole Deriaux is the queen of Cremant du Jura. These are legandary bubbles. Produced from young chardonnay vines in the Etoile sector of the Jura where the soil is laden with fossilized limestone sea stars/sprockets--Domaine Montbourgeau Cremant is surely one of the benchmarks of the region. Within the Cremant category: quite a bit of variety exists, however, Nicole's bubbles are always on the very pretty end of the spectrum, laced with taught citrus, mountain flowers, and that certain signature chalkiness that can only be found in her neighborhood of the Jura. She dosn't make many bottles. We're very lucky to get a modest parcel bi-annually. Quite allocated. Extremely delcious."
