Macon-Cruzille is a small but superb appellation for pedigreed Macon grown on argio-calcaire (limestone clay). This is quintessential Macconais countryside in all its glory—adorned by grassy hills, cows that moo, and an ancient castle that dates back to the 14th century. And this has the taste and feel of authentic rustic farmer wine. 100% Chardonnay—the Macon Cruzille is delightfully crisp—supported by the essence of lemony minerals, sea salt, and white flowers. A nice wine to accompany freshwater fish, duck mousse terrine on toast, coq au vin blanc (that’s Ludo’s suggestion)."
