"The Julienas from Michele Tete might be one the true great values remaining in Beaujolais. The wine is sourced from 60+ year old Gamay vines at 350 meters of altitude in the amphitheater of Julienas--make no mistake, this is real deal Cru Beaujolais--not to be confused with Beaujolais Nouveau--these wines have the heart and soul of Burgundy paired with the crisp edge of crunchy Gamay. This rendition is fermented in concrete using semi-carbonic vinification. The wine is high-tone and bright offering notes of succulent black cherry, cola, wildflowers and a profound granitic minerality. Simply delicious.
