"Bojo do Luar--a Savio Soares import--continues to bring it. This is seriously good stuff. These wines technically come from the Vinho Verde region of Portugal although I have to admit I'm somewhat hesitant to broadcast that because I feel like it's not fully representative of what they're all about. First and foremost, these wines are the creation of Fernando Paiva--a Biodynamic farmer with a penchant for experimentation and a particularly natural/ecofriendly. Fernando has been toying with a technique that involves adding ground up chestnut flowers which acts as a natural stabilizer and allows him to use little or no SO2. This particular bottling is made from 100% Louriero (of the many grapes in the region--Louriero is considered prime). The finished wine is delicate, mineral, and resinous--achieving bright, rounded acids for peak crushability and paring at the table."
