"Bernhard Stadlmann is simply on fire. Thermenregion is part of the Vienna basin that extends southward with 1800+ hectares under vine. Bernhard took over in 2006 and is the eight generation to shepherd the estate, which is quickly becoming the golden standard. These wines are lithe, mineral, transparent and marked with the thumbprint of limestone. This is unique because much of Austria's Gruner is planted on loess-rich soil, to a somewhat different effect. You will see. This style of Gruner is incredibly useful for me personally and is the perfect white for green veggies, bitter salads and lake fish."
