"Produced from organically farmed Garnacha Blanca and Macabeau--this soulful Spanish white is handmade by Marco Bernava and Ruth Fullat. Although Marco is Italian born and raised, this duo met on the beach in Catalunya when they were 18 years old and after a lengthy correspondence of love letters which served as an engine to better learn each other's language--and eventually Ruth moved to Italy to study winemaking. Some years later, Ruth and Marco found this quant farm in Terra Alta and have been producing organic and natural-leaning wines from the indigenous varieties. This white is stunning--driven by piney, resinous fruit, herbs, and a savory mineral edge. It almost reminds me of Cellar Credo Miranius which we also featured in the wine club a little while back."
