If the name sounds familiar, don’t be surprised—for the past 5+ years Ancona’s has worked closely with this vineyard through the lens of Broadside, a brand that purchases fruit from Ancient peaks. (Broadside “Margherita” is also a WOM alumni). Like Broadside, the wine itself is on the decadent side but maintaining supreme balance. This rendition may be just a hair richer and combines a suave fruit profile with the more savory aspects of Cabernet Sauvignon including the subtle essence of smoke, cassis, cocoa and seashell minerality. This is very satisfying—and hard to top at this price tag."
