“The 2007 California Cabernet Sauvignon blends grapes from our favorite appellations resulting in an elegant, luscious wine. – a wine that we enjoy drinking.

The diversity of Napa Valley’s appellations provide the 815 Cabernet with round, blackberry flavors from the valley floor and dark, complex mocha-like flavors from the hillsides. Volcanic soils and the higher elevation in vineyards northeast of Napa Valley help produce a wine with structure and a mineral component. Fruit from the rocky red soils and moderate climate of the Central Valley adds balance, soft tannins, silky texture and bright red fruit flavors to the wine. In contrast to these warmer regions, the cool climate and longer harvest of coastal vineyards allow for more earthiness and acidity resulting in a black tea laced wine with spicy red fruit and peppercorns.

Why 815? During the 2003 harvest our first child was born. The 815 moniker is our way of commemorating Lucy’s birth on August 15th. At four years old, each continue to thrive and evolve reminding us of the importance of celebrating family and enjoying life.”~(Winery Notes)
