"Located in the village of Charnay, Jean Paul Brun is an absolute stanchion in the grand scheme of Beaujolais. This is a man that started with just a few hectares of vineyard and through hard work and determination has built a world-renowned domaine. Priorities include organic farming and minimal use of SO2. Beaujolais Blanc might be the dark horse of Burgundy. Produced from 100% Chardonnay, these wines are often overlooked in the white Burgundy section frequently offer outstanding value. High quality examples are really not that dissimilar from good Macon, marked by green apple, fresh lemons, and a chiseled minerality. This rendition is vinified in a combination of stainless steel and concrete. It has always been marked with a little complexity: something earthy that I find hard to resist."
