91 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate > Jean-Marc Burgaud started in 1989, the same year he married his wife, Christine. Both sets of parents were winegrowers, so there was clearly something in the blood. They have built up 19 hectares of vineyards and the estate continues to grow. In the vineyard Jean-Marc works traditionally, ploughing the soil. He's not certified organic, but his philosophy is both traditional and manual. He hasn't used chemical insecticide for 10 years, and only once in that time has he been forced by the vintage to resort to using a non-organic product in the vineyard. Red and black raspberry and sour cherry mingle with fresh red meat juices on the bright palate of Burgaud's 2010 Morgon Cote de Py Vieilles Vignes. Underpinnings of crushed stone and peat moss help set-off the fruit, while salt and iodine serve for further finishing savor and saliva-inducement, all of which render the tannins almost subliminal. This outstanding value should prove well worth following for at least 3-4 years.
