Ehret Family Winery is the creation of husband and wife team, Pierre and Susan Ehret. The winery, located in the highly esteemed Knight's Valley in Northern Sonoma County produces small lots of high quality wine. This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc was handpicked from their Estate Bavarian Lion Vineyards. The slightly higher elevation combined with rich volcanic soil and warm sunny days create ideal growing conditions for the varietals that make Bordeaux or Meritage blends. The 2008 Bellarina has a classic claret appearance of garnet red with light red hues. It is fragrant with red currants, sweet spice, rhubarb, and fresh herb impressions. On the palate, the wine has tart red cherry, raspberry, red plum, and black tea flavors. The wine finishes with hints of plum and vanilla. Drink now or cellar for 4-6 years. Only 790 cases made.
