Domaine Begude is located in Limoux, South of France. It is owned and operated by James & Catherine Kinglake, Australian ex-pats who have brought a fresh outlook to French winemaking. Chenin Blanc blending so seamlessly with Chardonnay? Who knew? They are very passionate about maintaining healthy, living soil and therefore farm their vineyards organically and biodynamically. The 2010 'Le Bel Ange' Chardonnay includes 14% Chenin Blanc. It has fresh & zesty citrus flavors with hints of apple and pear. It is enjoyable as an apertif or as a partner with seafood.

It is noted in Robert Parker's "Bargain Wines Guide" 2010 as, "Utterly beguiling. Full of flowers, citrus, orchard fruits, and almond, this offers some lushness of texture while remaining bright and refreshing, and displays a shimmering sense of minerality that would be worthy of a Chablis costing three times the price."
